Transaction Creates One of the Nation's Largest Youth Multi-Sport Platforms Spanning Facilities, Tournaments, Leagues, and a National Flag Football Network
Capacity Sports Group ("CSG") today announced the acquisition of United Sports, YSC Sports, Sideline Sports Solutions ("S3"), and Flag Football Life ("FFL"), a transformational transaction that expands CSG's national footprint and cements its position as one of the most powerful and comprehensive youth sports operators in the United States. The acquisition brings together two of the premier multi-sport campuses in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, an elite national tournament business that operates 10 of the top 50 ranked youth soccer tournaments in the country, and one of the fastest-growing flag football tournament operators in North America.
The acquisition spans two premier owned campuses in the greater Philadelphia region totaling more than 300,000 square feet of indoor space and approximately 80 acres of outdoor fields. Across its facilities, the platform hosts more than 130 tournaments annually, in addition to the flag football tournaments nationwide, and attracts more than 10,000 competing teams each year, and serves participants across soccer, flag football, field hockey, lacrosse, basketball, and volleyball.
"The addition of these well-respected companies into Capacity Sports Group is a statement about where our company is headed, which is a national youth sports platform regardless of the sport," said Ken Kocher, CEO of Capacity Sports Group. "We are not only adding quality facilities -- we are entering soccer, flag football, field hockey, lacrosse, basketball, and volleyball at a genuinely elite level, with the complexes, the relationships, and the tournament infrastructure to compete at the top of each of those verticals. Most of all, we are adding an experienced and passionate team of sports leaders to our already impressive organization.”
United Sports (Downingtown, PA), founded in 1998, is one of the largest indoor and outdoor multi-sport complexes in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, featuring 218,000 square feet of indoor space, 11 professional-grade outdoor fields, and the Kinetic Dome, a 91,000 square foot climate-controlled indoor turf facility. YSC Sports (Wayne, PA), founded in 2008, is a premier 90,000 square foot sports complex and player development hub serving more than 1,500 teams and 7,500 individual registrations annually.
S3, the platform's soccer tournament business, operates more than 40 tournaments per year and holds 10 of the top 50 Got Sport-ranked tournaments in the United States, including the No. 1-ranked FC Europa Turf Cup. The platform's flagship FC Delco Players Cup attracts approximately 850 teams and more than 14,000 players.
Flag Football Life ("FFL"), powered by United Sports, operates NFL FLAG leagues across more than 25 locations, and runs a national tournament circuit spanning 15+ states and Canada. With flag football's inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games driving historic participation growth, FFL is actively expanding into California, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York/New Jersey, Texas, and Virginia.
“United Sports, YSC, S3, and FFL have a common mission to create a memorable experience for our participants and their families,” said John Hatt, President of United Sports. “Capacity Sports Group shares that value. Together we have an unmatched platform to deliver on that promise on a local, regional, and national level.”
