CSG Acquires Nation Sports League

Flag Football Life, powered by United Sports, has officially acquired West Chester Flag Football and affiliated leagues from Nation Sports LLC, significantly expanding its presence in the rapidly growing youth flag football landscape. The acquisition is the latest move by Capacity Sports Group, the national youth sports platform and venue management company, to build one of the most comprehensive flag football operations in the country following its recent acquisitions of United Sports and Flag Football Life.

The acquisition includes six established leagues across Southeastern Pennsylvania and Northern Delaware, serving boys and girls from Pre-K through middle school. Locations include West Chester, Kennett-Unionville, Garnet Valley, Avon Grove, Wilmington, and a new expansion market in New Castle, Delaware.

With this addition, United Sports now reaches over 12,000 annual participants, further solidifying its position as one of the largest operators in the NFL Flag network on the East Coast.

“This is a major step forward for our organization,” said Rick Knowles, VP of Programming at United Sports. “United Sports is very excited to add these flag leagues to our current platform. The operating Commissioners at each league are continuing with us, so the continuity will remain for customers, while we are able to strengthen the overall operation with the backing of Flag Football Life powered by United Sports. Flag football, especially for girls, is a rapidly growing sport, and we will continue to be at the forefront of this movement.”

“Flag football is one of our highest conviction growth areas at Capacity Sports Group, and this acquisition is a direct reflection of that,” said Ken Kocher, CEO of Capacity Sports Group. “Every league we add deepens our footprint, strengthens our network, and brings more kids into a sport that is growing at a remarkable pace. We are just getting started.”

The leagues, which operate year-round across all seasons, will be fully integrated into Flag Football Life’s operations beginning with the Summer 2026 season. While participants can expect a seamless transition, including a new registration system, core elements such as league structure and leadership will remain consistent.

Former Nation Sports owner Tom Shrader emphasized the long-term benefits of the transition for families and athletes.

“We are excited regarding the continued growth and development of our leagues,” said Tom Shrader. “This collaboration represents a major step forward in enhancing the overall experience for our players, families, and community.”

“Our mission has always been to create a fun, competitive, and well-organized environment for kids to learn and grow through sports,” Shrader added. “Falling in under United Sports allows us to elevate that mission while maintaining the same leadership, values, and commitment families have come to expect.”

The acquisition also builds on the strong growth of youth flag football in the region, including increased participation in girls’ leagues, one of the fastest-growing segments of the sport.

Registration for the upcoming summer season will open on 4/24.
